- 04/30/06 Attended fund-raising dinner for the construction of China Archway (Zhong Hua Men) in Toronto ’s old Chinatown .
- 05/15/06 Welcomed delegation from Chongqing led by Mayor Wang Hongju, and attended dinner celebrating the 20 th anniversary of sister-city relationship between Toronto and Chongqing .
- 06/06 Participated in ORBIS Canada’s “Sight on China ” fund-raising event to help the blind and other disadvantaged groups in rural China .
- 07/04/06 Welcomed delegation from Nanjing , headed by the city’s deputy mayor, and attended “Nanjing Investment Environment Briefing.”
- 07/06/06 Received delegation from Wuxi , Jiangsu province, and organized the “2006 Wuxi-Toronto Technical Cooperation Forum.”

- 07/23/06 Participated in a joint theatrical performance by Toronto ’s Chinese community celebrating the countdown of Beijing Olympics.
- 07/06 Supported the “Bamburgh Garden Festival 2006” organized by Toronto ’s ethnic Chinese police to fight against cancer.
- 08/03/06 Held a press conference at Toronto ’s City Hall, announcing details of the Sino-Canadian Economic Leaders Conference. Toronto Mayor David Miller attended the conference together with other dignitaries including Mme. Chen Xiaoling, Chinese consul-general in Toronto and Bassinio So, director-general of Hong Kong ’s Economic and Trade Office in Toronto .
- 08/10/06 CCGC President Shu Xin attended the 2006 International Dragon Boat Race as an honorary adviser of the event.
- 08/12/06 Attend news conference for the construction of China Archway in Toronto .
- 08/23/06 Attended the ribbon-cutting for the opening of the Mississauga store of the T&T Supermarket chain.
- 09/05/06 Received a goodwill delegation from Qianjiang city, Hubei province, led by Mayor Wang Dunsheng.
- 09/06/06 Opening ceremony of the 2006 Sino-Canadian Economic Leaders Conference” at the Metro Toronto Convention Center . More than 500 people attended the gathering, including Canadian officials from the federal, provincial and municipal governments, diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa and Chinese Consulate-General in Toronto , Chinese business leaders and entrepreneurs.
- 09/07/06 The Economic Leaders Conference held a forum at the Scarborough Civic Center to discuss prospects of Sino-Canadian economic cooperation.
