Canada Chinese General Chamber of Industry & Commerce Present Shu Xin talked about management philosophy

On April 10, 2007 Canadian Chinese General Chamber of Industry and Commerce President and C&C Energy Ltd. chairman of the board Mr. Xin Shu delivered a lecture titled, "There is no backward staff, only backward manager" for EMBA and the MBA students at Huazhong University of Science & Technology School of Management, room 105.

Before the lecture, the School of Management first held a ceremony for Mr. Xin Shu to be appointed as an adjunct faculty member of the university. The Dean of the School of Management Zhang Jinlong presented the appointment letter to Mr. Shu on behalf of the university. The Associate Dean of the School of Management Ma Shihua delivered the ceremony speech.

Mr. Xin Shu started his own business then found and managed many international enterprise entities. He has traveled between China and Canada for a long time to promote trade and social ties between the two countries. Mr. Xin Shu used his rich life experience and the field managerial experience as examples draw on: he improvised flowing, his voice was stentorian, and his delivery was dramatic. The audience applauded and laughed by his wisdom and humors. The lecture was divided into five parts: First, manager's philosophy is to manage good people and use them, always educate and train them. Second, feel more grateful than grumble. Third, leader's speech is not always right; the manager is not a messenger. Fourth, execute an enterprise genuinely, and be an honest person. Fifth, "Personality Registration Capital" decides a successful or failed life.

Mr. Xin Shu’s lecture has his own unique ponders and opinions. He proposed that to be thankful is also a productive force. He offered three examples of his own to prove his point of view. He said that, "I extremely appreciate and thank my staffs to offer opinions to me. If they are right, it proves that they are capable and can be trusted with heavy responsibility. If they are wrong, it proves that they have courage and I can help him to improve. The enterprise owners often hear more flattering words than 'malicious remarks.' This will easily lead them to be hubris. If enterprise owners cannot listen to the opposition’s opinions and cannot correctly treat intimate friend’s opinions, it is a sign of bankrupt. I like to hear my staffs’ original viewpoints." Mr. Xin Shu talked about genuine enterprise; if his enterprise is considered as successful then the key word is to be “honest.” A business has to be trustworthy, a person has to be true. "Honesty" is the starting point for a person to start his career, and to build the enterprise. Honesty and trust are the life of an enterprise, priceless treasure; an enterprise and the owner’s trust, honor, and reputation is life of an enterprise. Mr. Xin Shu also offered a brand-new idea of "Personality Registration Capital" in his lecture.

He incorporated corporation registration capital and “Personaly Registration Capital” into his career history. He said the “Personality Registration Capital” decides the up-and-fall of a person’s life. He said that a person's moral behavior quality equals to the total of his personality registration capital. To do business one must have registration capital, this capital can be loaned, or an accounting firm for a small fee can forge a fake one, and after the examination one can defraud for money. This Personality Registration Capital could not be loaned, deceived, escaped, or forged as fakery. This is nothing that one or two authoritative sources or departments can decide. Everyone who knows you, regardless of their job positions high or low, can all examine you in their hearts’ balance. Out of which comes your Personality Registration Capital. Certainly, you also have the balance to examine yourself, and an exaggerated and flippant “Personality Registration Capital” will harm oneself. To start an enterprise is like to learn how to be a man. If you are doing well, even if you do not keen to do a business, it will find you automatically. The enterprise will eventually lead to a promising future.

In nearly one and a half hour of passionate and wise lecture, a full room of students attentively listened to this successful Canadian entrepreneur and earnestly made notes. After the speech, Mr. Xin Shu also happily replied students’ inquiries. In his answers he showed his love for the home country and the will to give back to the home country. For this, the students applauded with fervor

Finally, the Associate Dean Shihua Ma presented to Mr. Xin Shu a plaque commemorating his lecture for “ Huazhong University of Science & Technology Management Forum.” The lecture finished in thunderous applause.
